With over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Transformation Coach, Karla offers a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and practical advice. Whether discussing the psychological effects of global events, providing mental health resources, or sharing inspirational stories of resilience, our show is your go-to source for understanding and improving your mental health in the context of the world around you.
Launched in August 2020 during the pandemic, this interview-style show was created to address the community's mental health needs and discuss life issues affecting people's lives. Our goal is to bridge the gap between the community and mental health services by engaging local leaders, mental health professionals, and citizens in meaningful discussions.
"Couch Convo with Coach Karla" normalizes and destigmatizes therapy, highlighting that mental health services are essential for everyone at some point in life. Previously aired on WAVN The Trend and Bumpin 96.3 FM, the show now airs on Xfinity Channel 17 on Fridays at 7 PM, reaching over 1 million viewers across Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. Additionally, it streams live on Facebook and YouTube on Wednesdays or Thursdays at 7 PM.

Meet Coach Karla
Karla has over 25 years of experience as a public speaker and facilitator. She has facilitated a wide variety of classes and therapy groups throughout her diverse career in therapy, ministry, and business and emceed and spoke at countless church and community programs.
Her initial signature topics were determination and believing in yourself. Now she routinely expounds on self-love which is the topic of her book "Learning to Love Me: A Self-esteem Journal". In "Learning to Love Me" she wrote powerful motivating affirmations to share with her readers as well as special prompts for self-introspection.
She has facilitated training and workshops on building team morale, effective teamwork, effective leadership, handling conflict resolution, effective communication, women's empowerment, nurturing parenting, and healing from trauma at organizations such as Agape and the University of Memphis.
Karla has also been interviewed on Channel 5's "Bluff City Life" by TV personality Gina Neely for her therapeutic tips on handling grief during the holidays. Karla was recently the cover story for Bluff City Magazine. She weekly hosts "Couch Convo With Coach Karla" live on Thursday nights on social media on the SVP TV Network and Friday nights at 7pm Central on Xfinity Channel 17 which airs in Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina, and Georgia.
